I brushed my teeth for about a half an hour last night and I told everyone how good it felt to brush for that long. Don't get me wrong, I brush everyday, but never for that amount of time; I was pretending to be a hygienist in America. Today my two friends and I are leaving for Hebron, we delayed our trip due to the gay parade in Jerusalem. I've met quite a few jewish people on holiday questioning their culture. Usually, I tell them to think about jewish culture in the Netherlands and I think it settles the question. This morning hisham and I sat in the smoking room and I asked him how he was feeling and we talked about his days being a fatah freedom fighter. He's been to jail 18 times and that's pretty common for Palestinian men. Correct me if I'm wrong, it is expected, 70 percent of all Palestinians will serve at least three years behind bars in Israeli jails during their life time.
On another note, I've been drinking bottled water. even though people say the water is safe in Jerusalem, I am still skeptical. One of our trainers told us about the IOF (Israeli occupational forces) shooting the water supply for Palestinians, defecating and urinating in the water, adding poisons, adding garbage, etc. I've also heard stories of worm like things falling out of the faucets in the west bank. Today there is an action just north of hebron, but we need to become settled (not in a stucco house for zionists) in hebron; Saturday's are field days on Palestinians for Israeli settler violence. Next Friday and Saturday is going to be quite busy; I would like to find ear plugs for the sound bombs.
Even with the bug spray, I still feel like a junky in the middle of the night, itching myself until I bleed and I hear it will only become worse when we arrive in hebron.
